Land Acknowledgement

I acknowledge, with respect, that we are in Robinson-Huron Treaty territory, that the land on which we are gathered is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and known as Bawating. Bawating is the home of Garden River First Nation, Batchewana First Nation, the Historic Sault Ste. Marie Metis Council.

Approve Agenda as Presented

  Resolved that the Budget Agenda for November 17, 2025 as presented be approved.

Mayoral Direction – 2026 Budget

A Mayoral Direction with respect to the 2026 Budget was signed on September 22, 2025.

2026 Proposed Budget

A report of the CAO is attached for the information of Council.

The 2026 Proposed Budget is attached for the information of Council.

Shelley Schell, CFO / Treasurer and Steve Facey, Manager of Finance are in attendance.

  Resolved that the report of the CAO dated November 17, 2025 concerning the 2026 Proposed Budget be received as information.

Police Services Board

The Police Service is governed by the Police Services Act. Section 39(5) of the Act states that the board can appeal to the Ontario Civilian Police Commission who will determine if the proposed estimates provide for adequate and effective police services that meet the needs of the community for the fiscal year in question. The budget submitted by the Police Service is based upon meeting their requirements under the Act.
