Mayoral Direction – 2026 Budget

A Mayoral Direction with respect to the 2026 Budget was signed on September 22, 2025.

2026 Proposed Budget

Shelley Schell, CFO / Treasurer and Steve Facey, Manager of Finance were in attendance.

Tessa Vecchio, Manager of Communication was in attendance.

  Resolved that the report of the CAO dated November 17, 2025 concerning the 2026 Proposed Budget be received as information.

6.

Police Services Board

The Police Service is governed by the Police Services Act. Section 39(5) of the Act states that the board can appeal to the Ontario Civilian Police Commission who will determine if the proposed estimates provide for adequate and effective police services that meet the needs of the community for the fiscal year in question. The budget submitted by the Police Service is based upon meeting their requirements under the Act.

Nuala Kenny, Board Chair; Brent Duguay, Chief; and Angela Davey, Manager of Finance Services, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service were in attendance.
